Ingredients

Pretzels
  • 24 count large pretzel twists or rods
Coating
  • 12 oz white candy melts or chocolate chips
  • 12 oz light blue candy melts
  • 2 tsp coconut oil optional, for thinning chocolate
Decorations
  • assorted sprinkles white nonpareils, gold sanding sugar, etc.
  • sugar decorations seashells, starfish, seahorses

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Forks

Method

  1. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Place white candy melts in one microwave-safe bowl and light blue candy melts in another.
  3. Working one color at a time, microwave the chocolate at 50% power for 1 minute, then in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth. If too thick, stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil.
  4. Dip one pretzel into the desired color of melted chocolate, coating it at least halfway. Lift with a fork and let the excess drip off.
  5. Place the dipped pretzel onto the prepared baking sheet and immediately decorate with sprinkles and sugar decorations before the chocolate hardens.
  6. Repeat the process for the remaining pretzels, creating a mix of blue and white designs.
  7. Allow the chocolate to fully set at cool room temperature for 20-30 minutes, or in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes, before serving or storing.

Notes

Ensure all tools are completely dry to prevent the chocolate from seizing. If making your own sugar decorations, make them ahead of time so they are ready when you start dipping.
