Ingredients

Base Layer
  • 1 oz grenadine or strawberry syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubed
Middle Layer
  • 4 oz lemonade fresh or store-bought
  • 1.5 oz coconut rum optional
Top Layer
  • 2 oz butterfly pea flower tea brewed and cooled (or Empress Gin)
  • 1 splash soda water
Garnish
  • 1 plumeria flower non-toxic/decoration only

Equipment

  • Highball Glass
  • Bar Spoon
  • Jigger

Method

  1. Pour the grenadine into the bottom of a tall glass.
  2. Fill the glass completely with ice cubes.
  3. In a separate cup, mix the lemonade and coconut rum (if using).
  4. Slowly pour the lemonade mixture over the back of a spoon onto the ice to create the second layer.
  5. Top gently with the butterfly pea flower tea (or Empress Gin) to create the purple top layer.
  6. Garnish with a flower and serve with a straw.

Notes

To make this a mocktail, simply omit the rum and use tea for the top layer.
