Sweet & Spicy Hot Honey Garlic Bread Pizza

Crispy French bread smothered in homemade garlic butter, topped with gooey melted mozzarella, and finished with a generous drizzle of hot honey and fresh basil.

Ingredients
  

Bread & Base
  • 1 loaf French bread or Ciabatta cut in half horizontally
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4-5 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Toppings
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese low-moisture, shredded
  • 0.25 cup hot honey store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes plus more for garnish
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves torn

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and salt until well combined.
  3. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread halves.
  4. Bake the buttered bread for 8-10 minutes until lightly toasted.
  5. Remove from oven and top evenly with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Return to oven and bake for 5-7 more minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. (Broil for 1-2 mins for extra browning if desired).
  7. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle the hot honey over the hot melted cheese.
  8. Garnish with crushed red pepper flakes and fresh torn basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

To make homemade hot honey, gently heat 1 cup of regular honey with 2 tbsp red pepper flakes on the stove for 10 minutes, then strain.
