Ingredients

Snack Board Ingredients
  • 2 pints fresh blueberries washed and completely dried
  • 16 oz yellow cheddar cheese block, sliced into pointed petal shapes
  • 1 large English cucumber sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 box crackers or pretzels served on the side (optional)

Equipment

  • Large round wooden board or platter
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp chef's knife

Method

  1. Wash the cucumber and slice it into thin, even rounds. Arrange them in an overlapping circle around the outer edge of a large round platter to form the 'leaves'.
  2. Slice the block of cheddar cheese into rectangles, then cut them to create pointed, diamond-like petal shapes.
  3. Arrange the cheese petals in overlapping concentric circles inside the cucumber ring, working your way inward.
  4. Leave a completely empty circular space in the very center of the board.
  5. Fill the center circle with the washed and dried blueberries, mounding them slightly to resemble the dark center of a sunflower.
  6. Serve immediately alongside a bowl of your favorite crackers or crostini.

Notes

Ensure the blueberries are completely dry before adding them to the board to prevent making the cheese and the wooden platter wet. You can substitute the cheese for mango slices for an all-fruit version.
