Method
- In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Place 1 tsp of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Moisten edges with water and fold into a triangle or purse, pinching tightly to seal.
- Heat oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry wontons in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Drain briefly on paper towels.
- Warm the jam and lemon juice in a pan until runny, then fold in fresh strawberries.
- Plate wontons, drench with warm strawberry glaze, and top with whipped cream.
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing, but keep the assembled wontons cool until ready to fry to maintain their shape.
