Ingredients

Smoothie Base
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries whole or sliced
  • 2 large frozen bananas sliced before freezing
  • 0.5 cup almond milk or milk of choice, adjust for thickness
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt optional, for creaminess
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
Toppings
  • 1 large fresh banana sliced
  • 0.5 cup fresh strawberries diced
  • 0.5 cup granola vanilla or honey nut flavor

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Spatula
  • Serving bowls

Method

  1. Place the liquid ingredients (milk, yogurt, vanilla) into the blender canister first to help the blades move.
  2. Add the frozen banana slices and frozen strawberries on top of the liquid.
  3. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Use the tamper to push the fruit down into the blades if needed. Blend until thick and creamy like soft-serve.
  4. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add more milk 1 tablespoon at a time. Be careful not to make it too runny.
  5. Pour the smoothie base into two bowls, creating a swirl with the back of a spoon.
  6. Immediately top with sliced fresh bananas, diced strawberries, and granola. Serve right away before it melts.

Notes

For the thickest texture, ensure your fruit is frozen solid for at least 8 hours before blending.
