Ingredients
  

Rim & Garnish
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 wedge lime for moistening rim
  • 2 sticks cinnamon for garnish
Cocktail
  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 3 oz cranberry juice unsweetened preferred
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. Mix sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and dip into the sugar-spice mix to coat.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, cranberry juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
  5. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  7. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and star anise. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a smokier version, swap the tequila for Mezcal.
