The Base
  • 0.5 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 0.33 cup balsamic vinegar
The Flavorings
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.33 cup Parmesan cheese fresh grated
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
Serving
  • 1 loaf French baguette or Sourdough sliced

Method
 

  1. Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely. Chop the fresh basil leaves.
  2. In a shallow serving bowl, combine minced garlic, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, fresh basil, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Pour the balsamic vinegar into the bowl first, followed by the olive oil.
  4. Add salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
  5. Serve immediately with fresh or warm crusty bread for dipping.
