Method
- Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. If using fresh berries, toss with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside in the fridge.
- In a blender, combine the strawberries, crushed ice, cold water, and lemon juice.
- Blend on medium-high speed until the mixture reaches a smooth, slushy consistency.
- Optional: Drizzle strawberry syrup down the inside of your tall serving glasses.
- Pour the strawberry slush into the glasses, leaving room at the top.
- Top generously with the prepared whipped cream.
- Garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim, a drizzle of syrup, and serve immediately with a straw.
Notes
If using frozen strawberries, you may need less ice and a little extra water to get the blender moving. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
