- Remove mozzarella balls from liquid and pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- Slice each piece of prosciutto in half lengthwise to create long strips.
- Place a mozzarella ball at one end of a prosciutto strip and roll tightly to enclose the cheese.
- Repeat with remaining cheese and meat. Season the wrapped bites with olive oil, oregano, and black pepper.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bites, seam-side down.
- Sear for 1-2 minutes per side until prosciutto is crispy and golden. Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat immediately before cheese melts completely. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the cheese is very dry before wrapping to prevent steaming. If using larger mozzarella balls, cut them in half.
