Method
- Chill a coupe glass in the freezer for 10-15 minutes prior to mixing.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka (or gin), fresh lemon juice, hibiscus syrup, and orange liqueur.
- Fill the shaker with fresh ice cubes and secure the lid tightly.
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is heavily frosted.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Strain the cocktail into the glass (over fresh ice if preferred, or served up).
- Garnish the rim of the glass with a fresh lemon wheel. Serve immediately.
Notes
For the best flavor, use freshly squeezed lemon juice and homemade hibiscus syrup. To make it a mocktail, substitute the vodka and liqueur with sparkling water.
