Ingredients

Cocktail Base
  • 2 oz Silver Tequila Blanco
  • 1 oz Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice chilled
  • 1 oz Lime Juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.5 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 1 tsp Agave Nectar optional
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp Coarse Sea Salt for rim
  • 1 wedge Pineapple
  • 1 cup Ice cubed

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Muddler
  • Rocks Glass
  • Citrus Juicer

Method

  1. Rim a rocks glass with a lime wedge and dip into coarse sea salt. Fill glass with fresh ice.
  2. Pour the pineapple juice directly into the glass over the ice (fill about half way).
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine fresh blueberries and lime juice. Muddle thoroughly until berries are smashed.
  4. Add tequila, triple sec, and agave to the shaker. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
  5. Slowly strain the purple blueberry mixture over the pineapple juice to create a layered effect.
  6. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and extra floating blueberries. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a smoother drink, fine-strain the blueberry mixture to remove skins. For a rustic look, pour skins and all.
