Ingredients

Glass Prep & Garnish
  • 0.25 cup coarse white sugar for rimming
  • 1 wedge lemon or lime to wet the rims
  • 1 fresh peach cut into small thin slices
  • 6 red gummy candies sugar-coated
Shot Ingredients (for 6 shots)
  • 2 oz grenadine syrup
  • 3 oz peach schnapps
  • 1.5 oz vodka optional, for extra kick
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz sweet and sour mix

Equipment

  • Tall shot glasses
  • Bar Spoon
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Jigger or Measuring Glass

Method

  1. Rub the rim of each tall shot glass with a lemon wedge, then dip into the coarse white sugar to coat heavily. Set aside.
  2. Pour about 1/3 oz of grenadine directly into the bottom of each prepared shot glass.
  3. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the peach schnapps, vodka, orange juice, and sweet and sour mix. Shake vigorously until well chilled.
  4. Place the back of a bar spoon inside the shot glass, resting just above the grenadine. Slowly and carefully pour the chilled peach mixture over the back of the spoon to layer it on top of the red base.
  5. Fill each glass almost to the top. Garnish the rim with a fresh peach slice and a red gummy candy.
  6. Serve immediately while cold and the layers are distinct.

Notes

Pouring slowly over the back of a spoon is critical. If you pour too fast, the liquids will mix and you will lose the beautiful color gradient.
