Ingredients

Edible Batter Base
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Dutch-processed
  • 2 tbsp flour heat-treated
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
The Shake
  • 3 scoops vanilla bean ice cream approx 2 cups
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup brownie chunks baked
Toppings
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp brownie crumbs

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Microwave or Oven (for heat treating)
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Tall Glasses

Method

  1. Heat treat the flour by microwaving for 60 seconds (in intervals) until it reaches 160°F to ensure safety.
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, cocoa, heat-treated flour, sugars, and vanilla to create the batter paste.
  3. Add ice cream, milk, and the batter paste into a blender.
  4. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the baked brownie chunks and pulse 2-3 times just to break them up slightly.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and top generously with whipped cream and extra brownies.

Notes

Ensure your brownie chunks are cooled before adding to the blender to prevent melting the ice cream.
