Ingredients

Sauce Base
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth or beef broth (optional)
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly cracked

Equipment

  • Saucepan or Skillet
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups

Method

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Pour in broth (if using) to deglaze, then slowly whisk in the heavy cream.
  3. Simmer gently on medium-low heat for 5-7 minutes until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly.
  4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Serve warm over steak.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest texture. Pre-shredded cheese can make the sauce grainy.
