Ingredients

Base Ingredients
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries washed and completely dried
  • 12 oz dark chocolate chips or dark melting wafers
Decorations
  • 0.25 cup royal blue candy melts
  • 0.25 cup purple candy melts
  • 0.25 cup light blue candy melts
  • 1 tbsp edible silver star sprinkles
  • 1 tbsp white nonpareil sprinkles

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Piping bags or ziplock bags

Method

  1. Wash strawberries gently and pat them completely dry. Let air dry for 30 minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip each strawberry into the dark chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Allow the dark chocolate base to set at room temperature for 15 minutes, or in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Melt the blue, purple, and light blue candy melts in separate bowls using the 50% power method. Transfer to small piping bags.
  6. Drizzle the melted colors across the set dark chocolate strawberries to create a marbled galaxy effect.
  7. Immediately sprinkle the edible silver stars and white nonpareils over the wet colored drizzles.
  8. Let set completely before serving. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are bone dry before dipping; any water will cause the chocolate to seize.
