Method
- Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Store in the refrigerator.
- Melt the chopped semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a blender, combine the melted chocolate, hot cocoa mix, sugar, and milk. Blend briefly until smooth.
- Add the ice cubes to the blender. Start on low to crush the ice, then blend on high for 45-60 seconds until thick and frosty.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup heavily around the inside walls of two mason jars or tall glasses.
- Pour the blended frozen hot chocolate mixture into the prepared glasses.
- Top generously with the homemade whipped cream, an extra drizzle of chocolate syrup, and scattered chocolate chips. Serve immediately.
Notes
Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before making the drink to keep it frostier for longer.
