Method
- Brew the espresso and chill it in the refrigerator or freezer until completely cold.
- Place two coupe or martini glasses in the freezer to chill.
- Add the frozen cherries, chilled espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur, cherry syrup, and ice to a high-powered blender.
- Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is a smooth, thick, slushy consistency.
- Pour the frozen mixture evenly into the chilled glasses.
- Garnish each cocktail with a fresh cherry and serve immediately.
Notes
Using chilled espresso is critical; hot coffee will melt the ice instantly and ruin the slushy texture. For a creamier drink, add a splash of heavy cream before blending.
