- In a wide, microwave-safe bowl, use a fork to thoroughly whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk again until the batter is smooth and just combined, making sure not to overmix.
- If desired, press a tablespoon of chocolate sauce into the direct center of the batter (do not stir).
- Press 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chunks into the top of the batter.
- Microwave on high power for 90 seconds. Check; if it needs more, add 15-second intervals. The surface should look set, but the center will be moist.
- Let the bowl rest in the microwave for one minute to finish cooking and to set the fudgy texture.
- Drizzle with additional chocolate sauce and top with the remaining chocolate chunks. Serve immediately.
Notes
Microwave power varies; 90 seconds is based on a 1000W model. A wide, shallow bowl works best to avoid overcooking. Serve warm with ice cream for a decadent treat.
