Cupid's Potion Float

A festive and fizzy Valentine's Day treat featuring strawberry soda, vanilla ice cream, and decadent toppings.

Ingredients
  

The Float
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream slow churned works best
  • 20 oz strawberry soda Fanta or similar brand, chilled
Garnish
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream canned or homemade
  • 2 tbsp vanilla frosting for rimming the glass
  • 2 tbsp Valentine's sprinkles hearts and pink sugars
  • 2 twisted marshmallows pink and white

Equipment

  • Tall glasses (Hobnail preferred)
  • Ice Cream Scoop
  • Offset spatula
  • Paper straws

Method
 

  1. Place tall glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes to chill.
  2. Spread vanilla frosting around the outer rim of each glass.
  3. Roll the frosted rims in the sprinkles until fully coated.
  4. Add one large scoop of vanilla ice cream to the bottom of each glass.
  5. Tilt the glass and slowly pour strawberry soda until the glass is half full.
  6. Add a second scoop of ice cream gently on top.
  7. Top off with remaining soda, being careful of the foam rising.
  8. Garnish with a large swirl of whipped cream, extra sprinkles, and a marshmallow skewer. Serve immediately.

Notes

For an adult version, add 1 oz of vanilla vodka before pouring the soda.
