Ingredients

Limeade Base
  • 4 juicy limes washed well, quartered
  • 6 cups water cold
Sweeteners & Cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp condensed milk sweetened
For Serving
  • 2 cups ice cubes for serving

Equipment

  • High-powered blender
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Large Pitcher
  • Knife

Method

  1. Wash the limes thoroughly. Cut off the ends and slice them into quarters. Remove any visible seeds.
  2. Place the lime quarters and the 6 cups of cold water into a blender.
  3. Pulse the blender on medium speed for exactly 10 to 15 seconds. Do not overblend or the drink will become bitter.
  4. Immediately pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract the liquid. Discard the leftover lime solids.
  5. Rinse the blender to remove any pulp, then pour the strained lime liquid back in.
  6. Add the granulated sugar and sweetened condensed milk to the blender.
  7. Blend on high for 20-30 seconds until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is frothy and creamy.
  8. Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the limeade over the ice, garnish with a lime slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

Drink immediately! If left sitting in the fridge for more than a couple of hours, the oils from the lime peel will cause the drink to turn bitter.
