Ingredients

Lime Base
  • 4 whole juicy limes thoroughly washed and scrubbed
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar optional, for extra sweetness
Creamy Mix-in
  • 6 tbsp sweetened condensed milk adjust to taste
  • 2 cups ice cubes plus more for serving

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Fine mesh sieve
  • Large Pitcher
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Wash limes thoroughly to remove wax. Cut off the ends and slice into quarters.
  2. Place lime quarters, sugar, and cold water into a blender.
  3. Pulse 5-7 times until limes are broken up but not pulverized. Do not over-blend to avoid bitterness.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the pulp to extract juice. Discard pulp.
  5. Rinse the blender. Pour the strained liquid back in.
  6. Add sweetened condensed milk and ice cubes. Blend on high until frothy and creamy.
  7. Serve immediately over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes

Consume immediately as the drink can turn bitter if left to sit for more than a few hours due to the lime pith.
