Method
- In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until combined.
- In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Cut crusts off the bread slices. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice until thin.
- Brush the flattened bread with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll the bread up tightly. Repeat for all slices.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each roll quickly into the egg mixture (do not soak), then place in the skillet seam-side down.
- Cook until golden brown on all sides, turning frequently, about 2 minutes per side. Add more butter to pan as needed.
- Serve immediately topped with powdered sugar, berries, and warm syrup.
Notes
Ensure you place the rolls seam-side down first to seal them.
