- In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine milk and heavy cream. Heat until warm but not boiling.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder vigorously until no lumps remain.
- Add the dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. Reduce heat to low and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and peppermint extract.
- Pour into mugs and top generously with whipped cream and holiday sprinkles. Serve immediately.
Notes
Be careful not to boil the milk mixture rapidly, as it can cause the chocolate to seize or the milk to curdle. Gentle heat is key.
