Method
- Prepare your glass by rimming the edge with lime juice and salt or sugar if desired. Fill the glass to the top with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, amaretto, fresh lime juice, and cherry syrup (if using).
- Add a handful of ice to the shaker, seal tightly, and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the shaker is frosty.
- Strain the liquid mixture over the fresh ice in your prepared glass.
- Top the glass off with chilled Cherry Coca-Cola. Use a bar spoon to gently stir and lift the mixture once to combine.
- Garnish with fresh dark cherries resting on the ice and a lime wheel. Serve immediately.
Notes
Never add carbonated soda to a cocktail shaker, or it will explode when shaken. Always top the drink with the soda at the very end.
