Ingredients

Bread & Cheese
  • 12 sweet slider rolls like Hawaiian rolls
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup provolone or white cheddar shredded
Garlic Herb Butter
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking dish or sheet
  • Serrated knife
  • Pastry brush
  • Small microwave-safe bowl

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Using a serrated knife, slice the entire slab of slider rolls in half horizontally. Set the top half aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish. Brush lightly with the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses evenly over the bottom layer of bread.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  7. Brush the remaining garlic herb butter generously over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove foil and bake 3-5 more minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Notes

Grate your own cheese from a block for the best, stretchiest melting results.
