Cocktail Ingredients
  • 1.5 oz coconut rum like Malibu
  • 1 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 4 oz Sprite or any lemon-lime soda
  • 1 cup ice crushed or cubed
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt for rim
  • 1 wedge lime for moistening rim
  • 1 slice lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Highball Glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar Spoon
  • Small plate

Method

  1. Pour coarse salt onto a small, shallow plate.
  2. Run a fresh lime wedge along the outside rim of a highball glass to moisten it.
  3. Gently dip the moistened edge of the glass into the coarse salt to create a salted rim.
  4. Fill the prepared glass completely to the top with ice.
  5. Pour the coconut rum and Midori melon liqueur directly over the ice.
  6. Top with Sprite or lemon-lime soda.
  7. Using a bar spoon, gently stir the drink to combine the ingredients without losing the carbonation.
  8. Garnish with a fresh lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

To make a pitcher for a party, multiply the liquid ingredients by the number of guests. Keep the Sprite separate until right before serving to maintain the fizz.
