Ingredients
  

Cocktail Base
  • 1 oz dark or light rum
  • 1 oz coconut rum like Malibu
  • 3 oz pineapple juice chilled
  • 1 whole ripe banana frozen works best
  • 1 cup ice
Swirl & Garnish
  • 0.5 oz grenadine
  • 1 dollop whipped cream optional
  • 1 slice banana for garnish

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Hurricane Glass
  • Straws

Method
 

  1. If using fresh banana, peel and freeze beforehand for a thicker texture (optional but recommended).
  2. In a blender, combine the dark/light rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, banana, and ice.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour a small splash of grenadine into the bottom of a hurricane glass or drizzle it down the inside sides of the glass.
  5. Pour the blended frozen mixture into the glass.
  6. Top with optional whipped cream and a slice of fresh banana. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

For a sweeter drink, add a splash more pineapple juice. For a thicker texture, use more ice or frozen fruit.
