Ingredients
  

Cocktail Base
  • 1.5 oz Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 oz Light rum
  • 2 oz Pineapple juice chilled
  • 1 oz Orange juice pulp-free, chilled
Layering & Garnish
  • 0.5 oz Grenadine syrup
  • 1 cup Crushed ice to fill glass
  • 1 Maraschino cherry with stem

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Highball Glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar Spoon

Method
 

  1. Fill a tall highball or Collins glass completely to the brim with crushed ice.
  2. In a cocktail shaker filled with standard ice cubes, combine the Amaretto, light rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice.
  3. Cover and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds to chill and aerate the mixture.
  4. Strain the shaken mixture over the crushed ice into your prepared glass.
  5. Slowly pour the grenadine down the inside edge of the glass so it sinks to the bottom, creating a layered effect.
  6. Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top of the ice and serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Always provide a straw so guests can stir the grenadine into the drink before sipping.
