Ingredients

Apple Wedges
  • 3 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, sliced into wedges
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Caramel Whipped Cream Dip
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream very cold
  • 3 tbsp caramel sauce
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Apple corer/slicer

Method

  1. Wash, core, and slice the apples into even, medium-thick wedges.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Place apple wedges in a large bowl. Toss with melted butter and vanilla extract until evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples and toss again to coat thoroughly.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange coated apple wedges in the basket in a single layer. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and tender.
  6. While apples cook, prepare the dip. In a chilled bowl, beat the cold heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Add the caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon to the cream. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  8. Serve the hot apple wedges immediately with the cold caramel whipped cream for dipping.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure the apples get crispy edges.
