- Wash, core, and slice the apples into even, medium-thick wedges.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Place apple wedges in a large bowl. Toss with melted butter and vanilla extract until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples and toss again to coat thoroughly.
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange coated apple wedges in the basket in a single layer. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and tender.
- While apples cook, prepare the dip. In a chilled bowl, beat the cold heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Add the caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon to the cream. Beat until stiff peaks form.
- Serve the hot apple wedges immediately with the cold caramel whipped cream for dipping.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure the apples get crispy edges.
